"Her letters bring me joy"

“Hi everyone, my name is Ruth.

I have sponsored a child via Compassion for a while now. Currently I am sponsoring a wonderful girl who lives in Burkina Faso.

As well as my monthly gift I pray for her regularly and we write to each other (via a super easy app). Sponsorship is nothing but a gift and so even though I don't want anything in return, seeing her pictures and receiving her letters brings me so much joy.

I know that with Compassion my gift not only goes towards helping the child I sponsor but also the community she is in. They provide holistic development that is Christ-centred, church based and child focused, not only providing for physical needs, but also provide emotional and spiritual support for those living in extreme poverty.

In Matthew 25 Jesus himself talks about providing for those in need. We are all called as Christians to be generous with what we have and for me this is a small, steady part I can play.”
