"He is my source and hope"
“Saturday 14 March 2020 and news of the virus pandemic is spreading. The TV is full of pandemic news. Significant deaths from around the world. There is news of empty shelves in supermarkets, long queues outside food stores. News of Government lockdown imminent, forcing people to stay at home.
But for how long? What does all this mean for us, my children and my job which will likely be the hardest hit industry (aviation engineering)?
These were some of the questions going through my mind. Having experienced a similar thing as a child in Ghana with war, food and water shortages, fear began to creep in. I was worried for my family and did not want them to experience anything like this. Fear and panic started to take hold.
I paused and remained still. I took rest in the Almighty Lord and the Holy Spirit revealed to me: “Kwame, have no fear for the Lord your God is with you and before you. He is in control and will keep you. He is your source and protector. Trust him and rest in him. For he loves you dearly and no harm will come near you”. The scriptures I would meditate on are Nahum 1:7,Proverbs 3:5, Psalm 62:8.
Despite the fear in 2020, here today in August 2021 the Lord has kept me and my family. The Lord is my source and hope. The Holy Spirit is at the centre of it all. This is my Testimony.”
